After the Suicide of the Hound a number of interesting events happen. MC remains in Corsica and starts to Follow a lead about a Child caled Beneditto (ie MC plays the roll of the man who sells the boy the monkey etc and tells the boy that there is a strong possibility that his parents are not who they say they are.)
He also begins using Benettuccio in his smuggling activities.. this happens through out the story of the smugglers war ... including leading to the case of the smugglers getting busted by customs and Bertuccio ending up at caderousses place when he murders the Jewish Diamond seller.
Later, MC desguised as an Abbe attends to Bertuccio in prison and gives him the letter of recommendation to work with the count of MC.

MC is on a fact finding mission and he takes his man servant Benettuccio along with him. This is where he acts as a gysey selling a monkey and discovers the evil son of the Proscutor De villefort.
